The Saint Joseph Chapel on the Thontlaan was built by the Van Herzele-Appelmans family in 1960. The chapel was consecrated by then deputy pastor, later pastor Van Der Stricht, better known as floerekopken. It was a simple chapel in white brick with a gabled façade and black roof tiles. According to tradition, it was built by the Van Herzele-Appelmans family who had promised to have a chapel built if their stolen truck was found. The chapel was demolished in 1995 for the construction of the N208 regional road.
