(Brouwerijstraat, opposite the war memorial)
This monument commemorates Aimé Meiresonne, founder of the then brewery Meiresonne. This was located from 1871 to 1918 at the corner of Brouwerijstraat and Grote Heirenthoek. After the war, Aimé established a new branch in Ghent. It became the livelihood for hundreds of workers from Nevele and surrounding areas. In 1964, Stella Artois took over the brewery.
The monument was erected in 2008 at the request of the Meiresonne working group in connection with the 120th anniversary of Aimé.
