The Sint-Rochuskerk is a parish church in the Antwerp district of Deurne, located at Sint-Rochusstraat_DE 75. During the 19th century, Deurne experienced rapid population growth. In 1859 and 1866-1867, a cholera epidemic occurred. Saint Roch, the patron saint against infectious diseases, was invoked, and in 1867 a small chapel was built in his honor. In 1886, a larger chapel, essentially a mission church, was built to serve the neighborhoods of Drie Koningen, Exterlaer, and Silsburg. This was made of wood due to the military significance of the neighboring Antwerp Fortress.
