A small bar in the center of Bruges at St. Salvator's Cathedral.
A place where all people are welcome for a cocktail , a beer or another tasty drink . La Casita, a home away from home. May this be a place to see your friends, meet new ones, fall in love or reunite with family.
On the menu you will find different beers and Trappists. Saint Bernard is off the hook . There is also a wide choice of cocktails and long drinks. Some gins are also on display behind the bar. There are also some small snacks such as olives and Serrano ham.
They try to create a Latin atmosphere and sometimes there is a Latin band or DJ.
Striking about the cafe are/were the chairs with the exuberant colors . At the end of August 2022, however, as a result of 1 complaint with the city, the cafe was banned from using the colorful chairs : the terrace with green, red, yellow and blue chairs has been there for two years, but the city recently decided that it is not more is allowed because it does not conform to the color rules . There are five allowed colors , mainly ecru and beige tones . The terrace has been there for two years and that without any problems. Manageress Nina Corty ( read an interview here ) understands the legislation, but still regrets it: "We were given the choice to buy new furniture or paint the chairs. We will eventually paint them. We think the legislation is a bit dated "We like color in the street, we're also a Latin vibe cafe and those colors fit in well. It's a shame, but we're going to try to keep color in the street with our smile."
The cafe will now have until September 23, 2022 to paint the seats in the right colors, although the mayor isn't sticking to that date too hard ... end of the season is OK.
