Rococo has been a manufacturer of lace pieces for several generations from 1833. Above the shop there is a lace museum . This is noticeable from the street, through a protruding window on the first floor in which a doll does bobbin lace. The museum can be visited by appointment (info@rococo bruges.be).

In the 16th century lace was one of the main sources of prosperity in Flanders; our artistry and perfect finish were the basis of it all. It flourished at the end of the 16th century that it was forbidden by law that girls above the age of 12 were allowed to make bobbins. After all, rich people could no longer find maids or had to pay them too dearly.
