This memorial tree is located at the entrance of the cemetery at the Sint-Mauritiuskerk in Varsenare.
It was planted on March 25, 1920 as a memorial to the First World War.
It is a brown beech (Fagus Sylvaluca).
The nameplate also mentions the text "Fresnere 1003 Varsenare 2003". In 2003 Varsenare commemorated its millennium. Then the name was Fresnere.
