This cemetery is beautifully situated on a hillside on the route from Yvoir to Braibant, part of Ciney.
Braibant Cemetery also contains a small chapel where Jean-Baptiste Julien d'Omalius d'Halloy is buried . He is considered the first person to geologically map the French Empire.
He also played an important political role at the local level ( Mayor of Skeuvre and then Braibant), at the provincial level and then at the national level ( Governor of the Province of Namur, Councilor of State, Senator, First Vice-President of the Senate).
