We go back to the 13th century when this beautiful Renaissance building was called the " Lakenhuis ", from the 15th century the then owners renamed it the " Hof van Schoofs ".
After that, the building was used in many ways: successively as a town hall , merchant 's house, " Den Duitslandsch ", wine shop (where the beautiful house tower was built) and as a guild house for crossbowmen.
Here, too, you can see an arched door and Tuscan columns on which winged women with laurel wreaths, fruit, garlands and a shield add an extra dimension to the building. Perhaps an important fact is that in 1470 Margareta van York ( wife of Karel de Stoute ) saw the procession of Saint Rumbold or Saint Rumold from Hof van Schoofs.
