From the Esenkasteel, provincial staff collaborate with local partners on the development of the Westhoek. Partners here include Westtoer, Westhoek consultation, the West Flanders Intermunicipal (WVI), and the Service-providing Association Westhoek (DVV).
Projects and initiatives are being set up around various themes: mobility, water and agriculture, livability of villages, the specific role of cities, the commemoration of World War I, energy and housing, biodiversity, leisure, recreation, employment, landscape... Very often, there is also cross-border collaboration with partners in Northern France.
Local authorities and organizations can turn to the regional house for questions regarding these themes, inter-municipal files, and specific guidance (e.g., Call and Selection WinVorm, LEADER files).
