The chapel was built in 1600 on the site of a hermitage.

According to legend , it was built over a spring that fed the castle's cistern. This cistern still exists and is visible.
The chapel is located in an exceptional setting on the edge of the old Liège road.

It contained the statue of Our Lady of Sorrows and the statue of Saint Margaret. Unfortunately these pictures were stolen in December 1973 .

Saint Margaret was invoked by pregnant women "for a happy birth".
