The Plaisiersbos in Veldegem is a young reclamation area that consisted solely of wild, uncultivated land until a few centuries ago. It is named after a former supervisor, August Plaisier. The forest covers 22 hectares, offers beautiful walking paths, and is equipped with a play area.

From Bergenstraat, you can follow a marked walking route in the forest.

The Krakkepad is an 8 km long nature and cultural historical walk through Veldegem. The path has existed since the 1970s and was refreshed in 2013 by various initiators. The walk passes through the Plaisiersbos, among others.
