Cesspool in the Doeveren nature reserve.
This well is 6 by 8 meters and a meter and a half deep with a capacity of 70 m3 . Usually the fountain fills up, but here it's gone.
In the 18th century, the wild boar was brought from the farms into the countryside by horse and eel cart and dumped into a well . Later in the season the fields were fertilized with this eel. This was necessary in view of the region's poor sandy soil .
