The fontaine du perron pavement dates from 1674 and is a symbol of the concessions granted to the city of Spa by the Archbishop of Cologne in 1594. In 1887 it was transformed into a fountain , the symbol of justice becoming a monument of public utility.
A high, curved round base forms the base of the fountain. The wrought iron grille surrounds four rectangular basins arranged in a cross. An imposing stone crater with four lion heads provides the water. The pine cone cast iron staircase is the highlight, surrounded by three frogs.
