This wooden cross with a bronze Christ statue is located at the Pansire nature reserve.
What stands out is the head of Christ... If the figure of Christ does not put the head on the right - but on the left shoulder, one speaks of a Wrong Dear Lord. So this here is a Wrong Dear Lord, a rarity.
Once a traveler got lost in the snow and had a cross erected to serve as a beacon for others who, like him, could get lost in these desolate plains.
The last wooden cross was destroyed in 1927 during the fire in this part of the fens. A concrete cross was inaugurated on the feast of Christ the King on October 28, 1928 (see photo).
There is talk that the cross would have been damaged during forest work , a few years before 2016...
In 2013, lightning struck a beech tree next to the cross and a thick branch knocked the cross over. Only the statue of Christ remained intact.
A new cross made of larch wood , 3 m high, was made by a local woodworker.
