Description

This war memorial is located at the church of Bure.

It commemorates the victims of both world wars. However, it is mainly in the Second World War that an important battle was fought in Bure during the Von Rundstedt Offensive . A battalion of paratroopers that had landed in Normandy had to fly over headlong to the front here.
