The Saint-Roch de Namêche chapel is located along the road leading to the quarries .
This large chapel has a special history , as it was built on the site of the Lhoist quarries before being moved and rebuilt stone by stone in 1857 .
On the facade you can see several interesting elements: a stone from 1857 near the key of the entrance door, a plaque commemorating the restoration of the building in 1992 and a small niche with a wrought iron grille in which there is a statue of Saint Roch , a saint who traditionally invoked against infectious diseases. It is possible that the original chapel replaced a potale also dedicated to the healing saint following a cholera epidemic in Namêche that killed 17 people.
