Description

The Calvary in the former cemetery of Herselt was built in 1914 by the Janssens company from Westmeerbeek. This firm specialized in concrete rustic constructions, using bricks and concrete to imitate rock formations and monuments. She was very well known and realized Lourdes grottoes and religious monuments all over Belgium and far beyond. Of the grandly conceived calvary group from 1914, the central part currently remains, which will be restored from the spring of 2020 on behalf of the Sint-Servatius Herselt church warden.
