This old arm of the Leie lies in Machelen-aan-de-Leie and originated after the Leie was straightened in the 1970s. This old arm of the Leie is commonly referred to as Machelen Put but has a strong appeal extending far beyond Zulte. In the summer, it's delightful for "terracing" and also hosts events like "Tobbedansen" and "Leie-leute." In 2023, Machelen Put was the setting for a winter event Eau Revoir with a spectacular projection on the water.
