The ambition of the Arboretum is to acclimatise trees from the northern temperate part of the hemisphere to Belgium. It is divided into two major areas: the New World in the west (North America) and the Old World in the east (Europe, North Africa, and Asia), each exhibiting twenty groups of trees. The collection has about 700 species and more than 30,000 trees! A festival of shapes, smells and sensations.
