Against the facade facing the street is a modest chapel, made of bricks enclosing a niche in which sits a very simple statue of the Virgin Mary .
This depiction of Mary is the one described by Catherine Labouré (1806-1876). She received apparitions from the Virgin from 1830, during her novitiate, who advised her to make the "Miraculous Medal" , which is still available in the rue du Bas in Paris.
The fame of this Virgin ( for Lourdes in 1858) spread like wildfire and her image graced many oratorios, even the most modest ones like this one by Melles.
In 2014, this chapel was restored and consecrated by Abbés François and Le Maire.É.B.
