Among a hodgepodge of industrial buildings and residences from the second half of the 19th century and the first half of the 20th century, we find a gem of art nouveau at nos. 116-118. It concerns the home of architect-contractor Theodoor Vermeulen (1902).
No. 116 features a bas-relief above the door of Romulus and Remus being nursed by a she-wolf. Nos. 116 and 118 differ greatly from each other, but also show similarities: the slightly pointed arch windows, the bay windows, the projecting gutters.
No. 120 is much simpler in style and was originally the workplace of Theodoor Vermeulen: next to the narrow door, there is a wide passage to the brick industrial buildings (stables, garage, stone cutting shop, storage for slates and quicklime, boiler house, forge, machine room, mechanical carpentry, and office pavilion).
