This house, also known as 'maison café Favot' from the last third of the 17th century, is representative of the Louis XIV style.
Noteworthy are the decorated white stone bas-reliefs depicting scenes from the Bible . One facade shows three scenes of the Pharisees taking the adulterous woman, the Samaritan woman and the judgment of Solomon. On the side there are images of the parable of the prodigal son.
As soon as you enter this shop you are struck by the old, outdated looking machines that are still used to roast and grind coffee. The new owner (in 2013), a true enthusiast, will tell you endlessly about his passion, his discoveries, his projects. It offers traditional blends from Maison Favot (since 1875), the closely guarded secret of which was passed on to the company when the company was acquired. He expanded this “historical” offering with wonderful personal discoveries. You can find a visual report here.
