L'argentine (silver stream)

The source of the Zilverbeek is located in Waterloo at a height of 95 meters.

There is a small spring in a meadow adjacent to the Domaine d'Argenteuil and the stream receives water from the Waterloo waste water treatment plant.

The stream is naturally fed by surface water that drains into an environment consisting of meadows and forests. It crosses the Roselière de Gaillemarde and the Jolimont estate , where it also receives the water of the Ruisseau des Fonds des Ails . It is already a small river that crosses the Domaine Régional du Parc Solvay and then the Domaine Swift to pass, after the area of the "Pont Cassé", along the Grand Etang of La Hulpe.

"La Hulpe" comes from the Celtic word "La Helpe" , which means "Rivière d'argent" in French. Hence l'argentine and La Hulpe...

The river follows its course in the Bois Hennessy and then bypasses Lake Genval before joining the Lasne.
