These washing and drinking troughs are located at the bridge over the Semois.
This arrangement with 3 bins is less common . Typically, an arrangement with 2 sinks was common from the 18th century onwards, when the need arose to wash linen more than twice a year due to higher hygiene requirements . The lower container was for soaping , the upper one for rinsing.
The presence of 3 containers suggests that the animals also came to drink from the top container.
