The building was built in the XVIIth century and renovated in the XIXth century.
The building is integrated into a homogeneous architectural whole. The architectural style is sober . Little is known about its history, except that it was the home of the governor of the Duchy under the French rule of the "de la Tour d' Auvergne" family (1678-1794).
The last changes date from 1934. The interior has remained very simple , but the remaining decorative drawings refer to an elegant interior from a bygone era.
Now the building is used as City Hall . We can find important archives about the history of the city. The building has been recognized as a monument since 1976.
