This cross stands next to a bench at a place where the walk to La Heid des Gattes, a popular walking spot.
It is a limestone stele with a cross with a crucifix on it.
This cross commemorates the sudden death of Madame Josephine Colette , Benoît's wife, on November 29, 1847. According to tradition, she returned home with a bundle of twigs.
The cross bears the inscription : “DIVIN JESUS AYEZ PITIE A L'AME D'ANNE J. COLETTE DECEDEE LE 29 NOVEMBRE 1847 RIP”.
