This pump was built in 1863 at the initiative of the municipal council.
According to the specifications, the fountain was topped by a Renaissance-style cast-iron vase from which an aloe flower protruded. In 1871, a zinc lion's head from the Raborive foundry was added to the fountain jet. This ornament disappeared in 1902 when, at the request of the director of the Dieupart dairy, a major water consumer, an intermittent jet replaced the continuous jet.
The Dieupart limestone basin of this fountain was removed in 1948, when Dieupart was connected to the water supply. It was later restored and returned to its original site in 1971.
The aqualia painter Guy Leclercq donated a very beautiful painting to the municipality of Aywaille showing this pump in its surroundings. This painting hangs in the council chamber of the municipality.
