Monument of the Sacred Heart - Sugny

On a cast iron pedestal stands a group of statues from 1914, also in cast iron but repainted in bronze, depicting Marie-Marguerite BC standing on an irregular hill.

This work (also known as “The Religious Image” ) comes from the Maison Raffl in Paris.

Marie-Marguerite wears a dress, a veil with a high collar covering her neck and a belt around her waist. A rosary hangs from her belt on her right hip.
Christ wears a long tunic and a cape draped over his right shoulder.

The group of statues rests on a pedestal that consists of several parts with inscriptions.

In the center of the plaque, an embossed coat of arms, made of limestone resembling marble, and in the shape of a serrated pear. The coat of arms features a plaster reproduction in relief of a heart decorated with a crown of thorns. This heart is crowned by a neck from which emerges a cross surrounded by flames.
