This is one of the rare washing places with pluvium in Wallonia. Only the lavoir de la Maladrie in Saint-Hubert also has one. However, there are several in nearby France. It was built in the 1st half of the 19th century.
Inside there is a large central basin in bluestone and three vaulted niches for storing laundry bags. The open roof allows the rain to enter where it is collected.
In the 1990s an outbuilding was added to the building, made of cement blocks and a fiber cement slate roof. Inside, a cement block partition with a door separates the original wash house from a recent pumping station.
The fact that there is only one sink , and therefore no separate sink and sink, the low edges and the absence of a fireplace and benches suggests that it was very uncomfortable to work in this laundry room.
