Cycling between the Mine Hills

In Limburg, you could already cycle among the trees, the water, and the heath, and after summer, a cycling route opened in the Hoge Kempen National Park between the mining spoil heaps. At the border between Eisden and Lanklaar, a 380-meter pontoon bridge has been built over the lake between two spoil heaps. Burolandschap designed the bridge, and the engineering firm Tractebel created 28 floating pontoon elements, each 13 meters long. On top of this, a steel bridge in an elegant S-shape was constructed.
