En Limburg ya podías montar en bicicleta entre los árboles, el agua y la heath, y después del verano se abrió una ruta ciclista en el Parque Nacional Hoge Kempen entre los terrenos mineros. En la frontera entre Eisden y Lanklaar se ha construido un puente pontón de 380 metros sobre el lago entre dos terrils. Burolandschap diseñó el puente, la consultora de ingeniería Tractebel creó 28 elementos pontones flotantes de 13 metros cada uno. Encima de eso, había un puente de acero en una elegante forma de S.
