Kortrijk sculptor Ann Deman , and depicts a woman's body that seems to be born by the Earth : it is a strong woman who is born there, with the curves that go with it, she is soft and strong at the same time.
The fertile Earth here gives life to the symbol of fertility, so that is double. Moreover, it is located right next to the Leie river, which also ensures the fertility of the land. The location of the statue could not have been better chosen.
There is also a quote from Henry Moore : 'For example, round shapes evoke images of fertility and ripeness, probably because the earth, the woman's breast and most fruits are round and have this meaning as a background based on unconscious experiences.'
