The Trappist abbey, founded in 1794 and built by exiled French monks, treasures a valuable library, ancient manuscripts, and paintings. The monks pray, study, and work there in brotherly community and quiet rest. Therefore, you cannot visit the abbey and the brewery. The Trappist Path (8 km) and the Trappist Route (44 km) begin at the avenue of the abbey. Afterwards, you can enjoy a glass of Trappist beer with Trappist cheese or Trappist cheese croquettes at Café Trappisten.
