Farmer seeks bank: Luc and Bruno Vanhaelemeesch

Bruno - together with his parents Luc and Ann - offers you this place of rest. Their farm is a mixed operation: arable farming, pig farming, and Belgian Blue cattle.

Sustainability and excellent care for humans, animals, and plants are top priorities for these passionate farmers. Both Luc and Bruno have completed nursing training. They participate in various research projects commissioned by ILVO, such as methane-reducing feeds, water usage, …

Their main arable crops are grains (wheat/barley), sugar beets, potatoes, onions, corn, and grasses. Except for sowing and harvesting sugar beets, they perform all field work with their own tractors and machines. 'Smart farming' in arable farming with GPS-guided machines, Geo spread spreaders, soil scanning, Blue-N bacteria, ...

All piglets born stay on the farm until they are ready for slaughter. The healthy "White-Blue beef" that they feed maximally with their own crops is delivered to consumers through local butcheries as well as the nearby restaurant De Roste Muis. Bruno and Luc are also the “preferred supplier” of beef for Delhaize.

About 50 swallow nests stay on the farm each year, a returning and increasingly larger colony of swallows.

Numerous domestic and foreign groups, agricultural schools, and universities visit them and receive guided tours and extensive, passionate explanations.
