The churchyard with its whitewashed brick churchyard wall originally surrounded the church , but in 1969 part of it was cleared in front of the church for parking spaces.
The current appearance is still largely from 1625 , as can be seen, among other things, according to the year on the west facade of the northern aisle.
The northern part of the cemetery is reserved for monastic orders from Ostend, see memorial stones against the north facade of the church.
In the second half of the 20th century, the cemetery was extended to the south and east to Provinciegeled, accessible from the old cemetery via a brick gate topped with a bell tower.
