The monument was installed in late 2020 and was designed by local creative agency Fisheye .
The artwork is made of Corten steel (that rusty-brown metal). It depicts two abstract figures standing side by side, but with a bite missing. This cutout symbolizes the loss and emptiness the pandemic has left behind for those left behind.
The municipality wanted to create a serene place along the water where people can reflect in peace and remember their loved ones.
