Since 2020, trees have been planted here for newborn residents of Ostend, after the previous location at the petting zoo was completely planted .
The plot is approximately 1.23 hectares in size and accommodates about 2,500 birth trees . A mix of native trees and shrubs , such as oak, alder, willow, rowan, and hazel, has been chosen to enhance biodiversity.
