Hop and beer production are intrinsically linked. This place was once brewery Goossens. The brewery certainly existed in the 18th century and remained active until 1928. The last brewer, Camille Goossens, was also the mayor of the village.
During World War I, the German occupier requisitioned the copper from the brewery, including the brewing kettles. After a brief restart, production was definitively halted. From 2017, it was converted into Hof Den Tuitelaar.
