Fairly central to Durbuy is the Château de Durbuy, or the castle of Durbuy. The current castle dates from the seventeenth century and was built on the ruins of the former castle.

The castle is privately owned and is not open to the public. It is one of the few castles in the Ardennes that cannot be visited or rented at all. The castle stands on the banks of the Ourthe. Because of the height you would think that you have the best view of Durbuy if you were standing in the castle, but the best view you have at the higher viewpoint of Durbuy: the Belvédère. Unfortunately, you can only enjoy this panorama when the tourist train of Durbuy is driving around. This train takes you to the Belvédère watchtower, after which you can enjoy a spectacular view over Durbuy and the Ourthe valley.
