The Museum of Folkloric Marches of the Entre-Sambre-et-Meuse region was established thanks to the Association for Folkloric Marches, which brings together more than 80 groups and 8,000 walkers. In its beautiful building, which has been made available by the municipal authorities of Gerpinnes, the Museum showcases collections of old and recent objects related to marches. It has a library containing manuscripts, articles, memoirs, books, photographs, films, and videos. The aim of this Museum is to promote the study and dissemination of knowledge related to the history of folkloric marches.
The Museum is closed in July. Outside of the opening dates, it is always possible to make a reservation for a visit with the curator: conservateur@museedesmarches.be or +32 (0)474/61 46 44. Documentation in French, Dutch, or English is available on-site.
