In the park De Mik of Maria Ter Heide a fairytale path has been set out with stories for the toddlers. For the elderly there is the arboretum of 40 ha. which is located on a pond and has some very rare tree species. Park De Mik is about 35 ha in size. The park forms part of the Mikhof domain, created around 1785 in the middle of the Brasschaetse heye'. During the French rule at the end of the 18th century, the owner fled to America, only to return a few years later with seeds and lots of various exotic tree species in his luggage. Later, the park was redecorated in romantic English style, with a large pond and a mysterious gate tower.
