Start and Finish at Goubaulaan 2, 9031 Drongen (at the intersection with the Asselsekerkweg). Free parking in the Asselsstraat. Bicycle parking (shed) and bus stop at Drongenplein. Alternative start and finish at Drongen Station if you would like to come by train. You can also park your car for free there.
3km - The walk takes you through the Natural Area of Assels which is part of the Natural Reserve Levende Leie. Suitable for young children. Includes the beautiful Asselskerkweg and the peculiar underpass (51.0436, 3.6717).
Parking, restaurant, bars, playground, and bakery at the start/finish.
The little path connecting the towpath with the Asselsstraat can be flooded during winter. No worries! The Muinkhampad (little blue line on the map, just on the other side of the railroad) is your easy nearby bypass.
