Walk from the Affligem Abbey through a beautiful piece of nature to the mythical and historical Kluiskapel. On the return journey to the abbey, this walk takes us through the exceptional natural setting of the Faluintjes.

Route via the junctions: 1 – 18 – 17 – 12 – 11 – 10 – 4 – 3 – 2 – 1

From the parking lot, walk right to De Kruidenier van Affligem; there, take the field path down to the left (junction 1 follow 18). At the hop field, continue along the field path (follow 18), crossing the small bridge over the brook and following the narrow path to the Langeweg, which you take to the right (follow 18). You will arrive at Bosstraat, which you follow to the left (junction 18, follow 17) until you reach the house with number 33 (follow 17) where you take the field path. Follow this winding path until you reach the fork where you turn right (always follow 17) until you see a small field path on your right after a few sharp turns (junction 12, follow 17). Follow this Kluizeweg until Kluiskapel. After a visit to the chapel and the Kluizeputteke, take the left Kluisdreef (junction 12, follow 11). Walk past the vineyard and you will see further left the buildings of the former Abbey Maria Mediatrix. Optionally, you can follow the Affligemdreef a few hundred meters to the left to the entrance of this abbey where you can glimpse the front facade. You will then need to retrace your steps. From the Kluisdreef, take the right Affligemdreef (junction 11, follow 10) until tavern De Oude Snas where you take the left to the parking lot (follow 4), which leads you to the field path. Walk behind the greenhouses where roses are still being cultivated until you reach the fork where you turn right (junction 4, follow 3). When you arrive at the four-way intersection at the brook, take the right (junction 3, follow 2). Continue to the right at the next intersection (follow 2). A little further on, you will see junction 2 and you follow 1; you now have a good target in sight at the abbey tower that you can see straight ahead in the distance.
