Do you know the famous film Pallieter from 1976? This walk goes through the setting of the film! The start is at the Sint-Mattheuskerk in Hulshout. Opposite the church we enter the Bertelsbroekstraat. Via this street we walk after 750 meters into the Herebossen, a forest along the banks of the Grote Nete. We walk through this forest until after 2.5 kilometers we turn right and continue our journey along the Grote Nete. When we are a total of 4.5 kilometers, we cross the Ijzerenweg and find brasserie Pallieterhoeve on the left. 500 meters further we pass the castle domain of Hof ter Laken. When you look out over the Grote Nete you will see Hoeve 't Bergske in the distance. This farm was the home of the character Pallieter during the shooting of the film. We continue along the road along the Grote Nete. At the Lodijk bridge we are 8 kilometers away. We cross the bridge, leave the Grote Nete behind and take a field road a few meters further on the right. This road takes us a variety of forests and meadows, back towards Hulshout. We cross the Hulshoutsesteenweg (10 kilometers away). 300 meters further we come to a junction where we cross straight ahead. Near the intersection you can visit the Cheese Sprinkler Mill. Via small roads we walk on to the Kerkstraat. We turn right, arrive at traffic lights where we turn left and arrive 200 meters further back at our starting place, the church in Hulshout.
