The Krieke is a fairly large rural hamlet in Ingelmunster, which mainly consists of fields and meadows. There used to be a school that has now been converted into a house. Every year during the first weekend of August, the Krieke festivities take place where the rural character of the hamlet is put in the spotlight. At the highest point, the hiker passes the Doornmolen. This mill was originally built in 1772 as a wooden stake mill for grinding grain and pressing oil on the Hoge Doorn, the highest point of Ingelmunster (approx. 38 m above sea level), this of course to catch a lot of wind.
In 1856 the stake mill was replaced by a stone scaffolding mill. After a fire in 1883 it was not repaired and since then the approx. 21 m high mill hull has been a landmark for the wider area.

The route is suitable for everyone. During a wet period, the crossing through the play forest-Vlasbos is more difficult. Then it is better to walk along the Vlasbloemstraat (road along the Canal) to have a connection to the route via the Lijnwaadstraat. You can extend the walking route with the Zandberg walk by crossing the bridge.
