TO THE FORTRESS OF KONINGSHOOIKT - Walking along the fort and wide zeyp!

We start at the parking lot of KV Hooikt. 300 meters after the parking we turn right. We walk away from the village center of Koningshooikt and enter quiet country roads with distant views. When we are 850 meters far we pass a farm, where we turn right. We pass some fields and then turn left into a lane. We walk through the drive and arrive at Bossen (street). After Bossen we arrive in Tallaart (street). When we are 3 kilometers on the road, we turn left into a field road. We come across some farms, streams, a conservatory and a bunker. After 5 kilometers we cross a large track, Beukheuvel. Afterwards we walk straight towards the Fort of Koningshooikt. We take a step down and can then make a round around the Fort. Just before the end of the round we walk through a hill into the Brede Zeyp. The Brede Zeyp is a remnant of the historic Wavre forest. Through this nature reserve we start the way back to the center. When we leave the nature reserve we are 8.5 kilometers away. We cross the large beech hill again but in a different place. Afterwards there is another 2 kilometers to walk until the parking of KV hooikt. When we arrive here our journey is over!
