Gijmel Langdorp to the airport

Ride to the airport on 22-02-2022 (palindrome and ambigram, read it digitally).

On Strava, I have labeled the ride as “Flight 22022022 from Brussels Airlines.”

After the stormy weather of the past days, it is finally a bit calmer and almost dry. Glad we can cycle outside again. A classic ride with a west wind is to the airport.

It is a flat, completely paved ride on low-traffic rural roads, along a canal, bike highway, and the river Demer.

In the past, we used to do this ride with our cycling group. However, I suggest limiting your group to about six cyclists: a number of narrow lanes, some bends and intersections, the speed dike, Demerdijk, and bike highway. If the guide has some knowledge of the route, you can “slightly” expand the group.

In Winksele, I will add the Sigarenberg. A steep incline of 0.8 km with an average gradient of 4.5%, max. 7%. You can also stay on the F3 to the left and skip this incline on the right.
