Balderij - Rielenbroek - Winkelbroek

In the influence sphere of the Grote and Kleine Kaliebeek, there lies a beautifully expansive marsh area. This marsh area consists of a mix of alder swamp forests, oak-birch forests, willow thickets, and floating islands on abandoned peat pits. There are sporadic open spots with wet hay meadows and heather-poor vegetation. It is an area with a particular, rich flora and many fish in the water.

This walk goes through the Balderij and along the trees planted by Natuurpunt in 2022, sponsored by Carta Mundi and ACS. In extremis, I also added a POI with a beautiful Lourdes cave that is hidden just around the corner in a private garden.
