AzureWalk around the Bleukensweide in Leest, starting at the Zennebrug van Leest (also: walking junction 273). Parking is available there. The Bleukensweide is a meadow located along the Senne in Leest and owned by Natuur en Bos of the Flemish government. Located in a flood zone, the Bleukensweide can collect excess water during heavy rainfall in summer or winter. The area is well known to waterfowl, especially a curious number of small waders, which forage there when the meadow is white. In this way, numerous bird sightings have already been carried out here. In freezing weather, the meadow can be used as a natural ice rink in winter.
