A beautiful but somewhat tougher ride as this is referred to as a Hill Country Classic 🤩😅

The ride takes you through rolling landscapes across the provincial domain of Palingbeek towards Wijtschate, Wulvergem, and along Zuidlindestraat heading towards Nieuwkerke, from where you will cross over to the beautiful Bailleul, which is the furthest point of this ride.

From now on, we enter the hill zone and it quickly heads towards Sint-Janskappel, with the legs kept under constant tension starting with the first climb, the Zwarte Berg, followed by the Vidaigneberg and then Schomminkelstraat (Baneberg). Next, we descend the slopes of the red mountain to tackle the Sulferberg and Baneberg. If you want to recharge your energy, you can do so at De Rare Vos (Loker) because from now on we head via Loker towards Kemmel, with the first climb here being 't Motje, followed by the Monteberg. NOTE, we do not turn left up the Kemmelberg but descend right to conquer the Kemmelberg from the Kruisabelestraat, and we finish with the Lettenberg.

From now on, we head towards Ypres where you can also recharge your energy if you wish. We will ride under the Menin Gate to then proceed towards the battlefield of Passendale, with Tyne Cot being the most well-known resting place of all those young men who fell to give us a future.

You will see that on this ride you will be reminded multiple times of what took place here during WWI.
